Do Bay Area audiences realize how spoiled they are? We’ve got the opulent San Francisco Ballet, stylish Ballet San Jose, provocative ODC/Dance, mesmerizing Alonzo King, and so many more. One of the tiniest of the local repertory companies is Diablo Ballet, and when they’re performing at the intimate Shadelands Auditorium in Walnut Creek they know how to connect with their audience. Nearly 20 years old, Diablo just closed out their current season with a mixed bill that showed off the impressive physical and artistic range of these eight dancers, and the unerring taste of their artistic director.
