Honor a legend: New York Theatre Ballet is marking its 35th year – time to reflect on the miracle of this tiny company, which continues to bring the finest and most imaginative in classical and contemporary ballet programming to New Yorkers, at unbelievably affordable ticket prices, largely thanks to the vision and impeccable taste of artistic director Diana Byer.

In these difficult economic times, how do you allocate your giving? Public and private funding is drying up, and the behemoths need our support as much as the tiny upstarts, but if you prefer to be a big fish in a small pond, you won’t find a more deserving company than NYTB. Surf the dazzling reviews. Get to know their amazing dancers. Enlighten yourself on their pioneering outreach program. Give them a call and ask how you can get involved.

You’re not getting any younger, either. So why not do it now?

  2. NYTB has been entertaining my family and friends for 20 years. Diana Byer has managed to inspire my children to dance and perform through her company and her school Ballet School New York. I hope your followers will step up and give generously. Thank you for posting about NYTB and Diana. NYTB is a treasure.
